Often when you cannot open a link it is because Internet Explorer is not
set as your default browser.

you can change this by opening up IE, going to Internet Options under
Tools. Then get to the Programs Tab. Then check the box that says
something like Tell me if Internet Explorer is not the Default Browser.

For some reason at times when another browser, like Fire Fox for
example, is set as the default browser, Outlook Express will not
activate a link. I don't know why this happens. And since I don't use OE
as my mail client any longer, I admit my motivation to dig further into
this issue is more or less non existent.
