Hey Bud,

1. Open the Window-Eyes control panel.
2. Alt-H for Help.
3. T for Tip of the day.
4. Shift-Tab once to the Show tips at startup checkbox and press the spacebar to uncheck it.
5. Shift-Tab again to the Close button and press Enter.

I'm not sure what you mean by having it say twenty-seven rather than 27. They're both spoken the same here.
1. Alt-H for Help.
2. V for Show advanced options if it's not already checked.
3. Under Screen, Other, you can set numbers to On or Synthesizer.
4. Under Keyboard, Voice, you can choose several options like words and numbers, words, characters, and numbers, etc. I assume this is probably what you're looking for. As I said, I'm not sure be it that twenty-seven and 27 are read the same way here when a line is read, but obviously when the number is spelled out it's two words when typed while the numbers can either be spoken individually as they're typed or as a word when you hit space or add a decimal point.

Hth,
Tom

Hi Gang,

I uninstalled and then reinstalled window-eyes to see if it might help
my problem of crashing almost every time I try to go to a website.
Unfortunately it didn't help and I've been trying to get things back
like I had them before. There are two things that baffle me as to how to
do them. One is how to turn off the tip of the day. The other thing is
to have wineyes read numbers as they did before, by saying for instance
twenty seven instead of just the number 27. I've done thiss all before
but that has been several years ago and my memory can't seem to figure
it out.
Thanks for any info.
