Hello list,

I, like some others, suffer occasionally from loss of speech on my home Windows
7 Pro PC using WE 7.5.2 and software DEC Talk (GW version) as my voice synth.
This frequently means resolution via a reboot, rather than a re-start of WE.

I have recently had my Work PC upgraded to Windows 7 Pro, using WE 7.5.2 and a
external DEC Talk Express serial.

This PC also suffers from the same problem with a small exception. By judicious
use of WE stopping and re-starting I can get WE talking again. However, I find
that the sound driver in the PC itself seems to have gone. My reason for saying
that is because the sounds I usually get from actions within Office have
stopped happening.

I do not know how to re-start these and so a re-boot seems to be the way to get
the sounds back.

I hope this may be of some help in tracking down the issue.

Regards, John.
