I know this sounds stupid, but turning off all apps by setting app status to off seems to make Window-Eyes more predictable. Yes, you can't take advantage of the powerful apps Window-Eyes have to offer, but it is certainly a good workaround and I have set this on my own machine running Windows 7 64 bit and WE 7.5.2 whenever I want to use Window-Eyes.

Hello list,

I, like some others, suffer occasionally from loss of speech on my home
Windows 7 Pro PC using WE 7.5.2 and software DEC Talk (GW version) as my
voice synth. This frequently means resolution via a reboot, rather than
a re-start of WE.

I have recently had my Work PC upgraded to Windows 7 Pro, using WE 7.5.2
and a external DEC Talk Express serial.

This PC also suffers from the same problem with a small exception. By
judicious use of WE stopping and re-starting I can get WE talking again.
However, I find that the sound driver in the PC itself seems to have
gone. My reason for saying that is because the sounds I usually get from
actions within Office have stopped happening.

I do not know how to re-start these and so a re-boot seems to be the way
to get the sounds back.

I hope this may be of some help in tracking down the issue.

Regards, John.
