SuperAntiSpyware will be your helper for the anti-change of homepage.
Now, that Babylon stuff, is a mess. I tried it, and it installs so much
malware on your machine, that you are pretty soon to experience all kinds of
malfunctioning. It loads your machine down with cookies, that opens up for
all kind of advertisement, popups and so forth. And, it is almost impossible
to get rid of, if you don't want to meddle with techie things on your
computer. The uninstaller does not remove all its traces, and has no
activity towards the cookies it posed on your system.
To best get rid of the Babylon stuff, you might need to do the following:
1. Run the uninstaller for the software, toolbar and so forth; or do it
through the add/remove under your control panel.
2. Use the Search feature of Windows (Win-F), and search for the following
string:
babylon*.*
. Please note, the asterics-dot-asterics at the end of the word babylon.
3. Whichever entries the search feature finds, remove them by your delete
key.
4. Delete all cookies on your system.
5. If you are running Firefox, you might have to remove all cookies from
within Firefox as well.
6 Restart your computer.
7. Run some kind of registry cleaner, like CCleaner.
8. Run an AntiSpyware like SuperAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes; or even both. Let
them delete what they find.
9. Hopefully now you will be rid of the babylon stuff. In my case, not even
those steps were tough enough. If so, and you are comfortable with it, try
next step. It is not recommended unless you are sure you want to run the
small risk of messing up your registry. If you are willing to take the risk,
and you follow the steps, it is safe enough.
10. Run RegEdit, by hitting Win-R, and entering RegEdit, and then hit Enter.
11. in the RegEdit software, hit Ctrl-F, and enter babylon as your search
string. Then hit Enter.
12. You will be notified after a while, if there was an entry found. when it
is found, press the Del-key, and answer yes to the confirmation question.
13. After deleting the entry, hit F3, wait for next found entry, and repeat
the previous step.
14. When there is no more entries - and believe me there were a few - you
will be notified that no more entries are found.
15. At this point, hit Alt-F4. No saving is needed, as your registry is
already updated.
16. Restart your computer.
Hopefully, you will be able to get rid of the Babylon stuff. Reading their
license agreement, they even tell that they are not bothered by making sure
of no malware in their software, or any of the third-party stuff that comes
with it. Simply they do not care. And they even want you to pay money for
their services, so loaded with malware. My best suggestion is, keep your
hands clean from that stuff. It is only going to cause you headaches.

Subject: protection for change of home page that will be accessible with
Window-Eyes
Hello. Oh, my goodness! I just had something change my home page. I don't
like that. What antispyware program is accessible with Window-Eyes that I
can use to do that? I'm using NOD32 for my antivirus program, so something
that might work in conjunction with that.
I'm running a Windows XP Pro System with the latest and greatest hot
fixes, and I'm running Internet Explorer 8. Unbeknownst to me, the Babylon
Toolbar was installed and changed my home page to its earch stuff. Help,
please.
Thanks, in advance,
Brenda
P.S. I forgot to say that I was running Window-Eyes 7.5.1.
