Wouldn't be a bad idea. I did this anyway out of pure common sense, but
not everybody has that smiles.

Problem solved. I just deleted the GW Skype folder after the uninstall and
it works fine now. Does anyone think it would be a good idea to put up a
note on the page to say if people are upgrading to delete the original
settings? Thank you for all your help.

Samuel,
The GWSkype settings file is in %appdata%\gwskype, and GWConnect is in
%appdata%\gwconnect.
If you can verify that your sound devices are set properly and you
continue to have this problem even after restarting the client, please
let us know.
Thanks,
Steve

I tried doing an uninstall and reinstall but it didn't work. Where would I
find the settings.dat file?

I had this same experience. Did you copy your settings.dat file over? If
so,
don't do that as it will indeed break GWConnect. Set everything fresh.

Subject: No Sounds on GW Connect
Hello everyone, I have just upgraded to the latest version of GW Connect
which was just released, but there are no sounds for things such as when
someone calls me. I went into the sounds settings in the options dialog,
but
every time I tried to play a sound, nothing happened. I checked the file
and
the files are fine. Does anyone know why this is happening?
