Don't know what version of Word you're using, but in the view menu or ribbon
or whatever it's called now, there is an option called footnote. In Word
twenty oh three, this puts focus in the footnotes list and I am able to use
the cursoring keys to read the text in whatever units I prefer--line, word,
character. When I'm finished, I switch the view back to normal or print
view. I cannot imagine Microsoft omitting that menu item. Worth a try.

Subject: footnotes in word

Hi list,

If I have a document with numorous footnotes, how can I read those
footnotes word by word? I can read them with the word navigation ap, but
when I try to get to them so I can copy the citation information, I
can't get to it. The word verbocity is set to indicate references. The
footnote is read in full, but I can't read it slowly. Any help on this
is appreciated. thanks,
