Hi, Window-Eyes dictionaries will not accept the brackets for the
entries, only letters and apostrophe. So this is why it works without
the brackets, however it will be that way throughout all of the program,
not just in the list of messages. So the behavior you describe is accurate.

Steve,
I'm typing:
[soundslikeamystery]
I tried it without the brackets and WE didn't speak "soundslikeamystery"
or the brackets, but it wouldn't speak "soundslikeamystery" anywhere in
Thunderbird. I didn't try it elsewhere, but I suspect it wouldn't speak
it anywhere.

Margaret,
What exactly are you entering into the exception dictionary for each
rule?

Good Morning:
A number of the lists I'm on have the list name in the subject field.
I've created message rules for some of the lists so they go into their
own folders and I'd like not to have to hear the list name in the
Thunderbird message list view. I thought this might be accomplished
using the exceptions dictionary in WE 7.53, but my efforts so far
haven't been fruitful. I haven't saved settings since I wanted to see if
my efforts worked. I've tried putting in a space for the replacement as
well as leaving the replacement field blank and the names are sstill
announced. The one I tried was a Yahoogroups list.
I'm running Thunderbird 10.0.2 , WE 7.5.3 with DEC-Talk on a 64 bit
Windows 7 Home Premium computer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Margaret
