yes, I too thought it was annoying and did change the toggle to zero, but actually, now that I've played around with it, it can be nice. WE will still detect the keypress of insert and it's just a toggle in the .ini file, I am curious who made a comment about this little tweak, don't remember it on here but I can see its usefulness.

sandra,

They did implement the ability to use the bypass key and then the INSERT key
and have it passed through.
That makes it pretty easy to use, while still avoiding toggling INSERT by
accident when you start to enter a command and then change your mind.

Best regards,

I didn't know anyone had complained about the insert key. To me that sound
like it's going to be
more of a pain. Oh well. I'll read the read me when I get a chance.
Thanks.You're right I haven't.
Wish you all would have left that alone.

The answer to your question is yes. The insert key no longer does
anything when you press it. If you
get a chance, please check the readme file which better explains how to change
a line in the wineyes.ini file to make the insert key work the way you want it
to. I mentioned the readme file because I have a feeling that you haven't had
a chance to go over it at home. Remember that each time an upgrade is released
the readme file is updated explaining the changes between versions. Folks
really should go over the readme file. I get the feeling that from some of the
comments made on the gw-info list that some folks don't read the readme file.
They really should, grin.

So does this mean that when I download 7.5.4 at home, it will change
how my insert key is already
working for me? I really don't want it to change automatically. I want it to
stay the way it is.

Are you going to the WE file menu and choosing explore profile to find
the wineyes.ini? If so then the
line should be in there. If not then you are probably looking at the wrong
wineyes.ini.

Greetings -
I upgraded to WE 7.5.4 and I want my insert key normal default function
back! I opened wineyes.ini with
NotePad, but I did not find the line "BlockInsertToggle" to set to "=0" as the
upgrade info had instructed. Am I to add this line to the wineyes.ini file? I have not altered the
configuration file before, so I am in new territory here. Any help is appreciated.

Many thanks -
