You're not going to like my next suggestion. Recently, I had to reformat the hard drive because of a virus which no accessible spyware or malware removal tool could find. When the computer was put back together and WE was reinstalled, I had beeping at the desktop every time I pressed Control-Shift-T. I removed and reinstalled WE--I have the 7.5.2.0 disk, then upgraded through seven point five point three point zero, then the final upgrade to seven point five point four point zero. Before that, just to be sure I solved this unknown problem, I made sure my display drivers were updated. I had scrapped all my set files (cringe), keeping only important character, key label, and exceptions dictionaries.
Whatever was wrong, it is fixed now. My suggestion to you is to make sure your display drivers are updated, then remove and reinstall WE.
