Hi Pat: I recently read, on the nvda-project website that, with a little bit of work, you can get NVDA to work with Open Office. I think they said that a couple of extra utilities needed to be installed. This would suggest to me that Open Office can work with a Screen Reader if the Screen Reader has Java Capabilities.
