I was having the same problem as has already been described using the
latest version of WE with IE9. I ended up installing Firebox and
completing the survey that way. It seems a bit like cracking a nut with
a sledgehammer but there you go. WE is still a really good and stable
product but I'm beginning to wonder if its really up to the mark as far
as the internet is concerned. I'm waiting to see what staff from GWMicro
have to say about the difficulties that many of us have had with the WE
IE9 combination.

Using WE 7.5.4.1 and Internet Explorer 9. WE wouldn't read some of the
questions so I had no idea what I was saying yes or no to and, of
course, I couldn't read the screen with the mouse because it's not
possible with IE9. In the end, unfortunately, had to use System Access
and all questions were spoken. Don't want to use System Access because
WE won't read specific information but what can you do? What is it that
WE doesn't see and other screen readers do? Surely if they can do it, so
can and should Window-eyes!
