Mine used to be that way, too. But since they cloned the drive, for
some reason, it's not the same. Window-Eyes will nto show the
desktop--well, like I said, it shows the desktop, but whenyou tab to
it a couple times you get:
List View: No selected Item.
If you try and arrow up and down, you get nothing. All the icons seem
to disappear. Yet, if you can get to the start menu and look at
stuff, theyr'e there, but they don't talk and you don't know what
you're landing on, if you hit a letter. It's weird. Do you have to
reinstall Window-Eyes if they clone your drive? Does something go
wrong with the files?
Take care,
Brenda

When I first boot up, window Eyes says "Desk top" but doesn't go to
any flders. So I tab once, then shift tab and the desk top is
there. That's how I deal with it. It only happens when the
computer is first booted up. After that, the items are always there.

Subject: something is causing the desktop to virtually disappear
Hello all,
I'm running Window-Eyes 7.5.4.1. They reinstalled Windows on this
system from ground up but then cloned the stuff on my hard drive.
The desktop will suddenly disappear. Well, not exactly, but you
can't read the list that's in the folders. It'll show:
No selected Item. If I click on it, I'll get nothing. If I try and
move the mouse pointer to click on it, it'll say:
Cannot route mouse pointer to list view. The only way I seem to be
able to bring it back again is to reboot. I can't unload and reload
Window-Eyes and it come back. When Window-Eyes comes up after a
reload, I still cannot see the desktop. What? Has anybody had this?
I'm running Windows Xp Pro with all the latest fixes and stuff.
Thanks in advance,
Brenda
