I just read my post again, I meant the area which window-eyes or any screen
reader can't pick up info are from the settings, scan option.

I keep all the old version of vipre on my server for archiving purposes, it
will bound to triggle the update prompt.
but the thing is, you are using the antivirus version, not the security
suite I am using.
but from past experience, I trial the antivirus version before I decide to
purchase it, the full suite. the main different is, I have the firewall tab
on the settings and some firewall window in the main windows.
it should not make much different.
write to me offlist and see if I can help to work out something.

seriously speaking, I've been using the vipre premium version and now the
internet security 2012 and I don't remember having the problem as describe.
The only area which window-eyes or any screen reader can pick up info is
from the option and scan option tab.
other than that, its understandable and didn't see the problem of the update
as I just update a few days back.

Subject: Viper and window eyes

Hello all:

I notice that with Viper Anti-Virus, Window eyes does not read the buttons
that are present on screen when an update is required. I have spoken to the
tech support at GFI software. They say Jaws user's have no trouble with it.
I told the gentleman that I was speaking with that I am not using Jaws. I am
using Window eyes. Is there something that GWMicro could do? Maybe speak
with GFI software about this? This has been an annoyance for the last three
versions.
