My new HP computer came with Realtech motherboard sound but no sound card. My
previous computer also came with motherboard sound. I installed a Sound Blaster
Live card on that machine. For most users, motherboard sound is fine. However,
when I tried to record a vinyl album onto my new computer, I lost my
Window-Eyes Eloquence speech entirely. This reminded me that a sound card would
alleviate the problem. Fortunately, I have a Tripple Talk USB synthesizer which
I use for back-up. This allowed me to record the album. I know some listers
like the Tripple Talk voice very much. For me, it is just a back-up voice. I
thought I remembered that there may be some sound cards to avoid.

as most computers come with sound cards built in, most if not all of which
should work fine with window-eyes if they are working properly, I assume you
are looking for something a little extra from the additional sound card?

Ihave a Windows 7 64-Bit Pro computer and am considering adding a sound card
and a microphone. I would appreciate any suggestions for those that work best
with the latest version of Window-Eyes. Thanks.
