speaking for myself, I rather like the alisis IO2, especially for recording, as it has actual controls on the device, so levels can be very easily adjusted, for left and right channels, with out all of that messing around with software volume controls. and that's with out all of the other nice features of this box.

The interface is almost accessible to change its function and features. But if you don't want to do that, just load the driver and it should be fine to go. Creative soundcard are good as well -------------------- regards Thomas N. My previous computer also came with motherboard sound. I installed a Sound Blaster Live card on that machine. For most users, motherboard sound is fine. However, when I tried to record a vinyl album onto my new computer, I lost my Window-Eyes Eloquence speech entirely. This reminded me that a sound card would alleviate the problem. Fortunately, I have a Tripple Talk USB synthesizer which I use for back-up. This allowed me to record the album. I know some listers like the Tripple Talk voice very much. For me, it is just a back-up voice. I thought I remembered that there may be some sound cards to avoid. I would appreciate any suggestions for those that work best with the latest version of Window-Eyes. Thanks. If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
