Yusuf,

In the Adobe preferences dialog, in the set of controls under the internet
tree view is a check box called allow fast web view. Try unchecking that
box. Whatever is going on, I'm pretty sure it's Adobe that's causing it. I
went into the IE 9 security settings and there is no prompt option under
download, which means IE is prompting me via the notification bar. According
to Microsoft, the notification bar cannot be disabled. In other words,
whatever I did to make my computer handle pdf files differently than you, I
had to have done so in the Adobe preferences.
