You have to be really careful when you use the default method for updating Java
and Flash. On the webpage where the update download is offered, there will
often be a checkbox, checked by default, which installs a toolbar or in this
case makes Chrome your default browser. You need to look for these
access-destroying free offers and make sure to uncheck them before proceeding
to download the update. The Chrome browser was offered the last time I was
doing a Flash update. Some people use Ninite to avoid this kind of default
screen reader sabotage.

Subject: Google Chrome

I use Internet Explorer as my internet browser but Google Chrome has somehow
become my default browser when I click on links sent to me. I cannot find any
where in the control panel to change this setting. I am running Windows 7 64
bit. In my programs I have found Google toolbar for Internet Explorer. If I
uninstall the toolbgar am I likely to revert to I E as my default bowser?
Indeed I wou7ld happily unstall Google Chrome completely as it is not supported
by GW Micro.
