Perhaps but I wrote an earlier e-mail addressing this and I heard nothing back.
ON my install of the beta on a win8 machine the control for keyboard word/characters etc is not in the tree view.
It's gone.
Instead, I stumbled upon the annoying trick of hitting insert-2 to move around the rotor. This does not happen on my win7 machine running WE 7.5.41 nor does it happen on a win7 machine running the beta.
An explanation would be nice.

Kevin,

The operating system doesn't matter in this case since number pronunciation is handled by Window-Eyes.

Unless of course you've installed the beta on a Windows 8 machine.

Bill,

Go into Screen/Other, and change the Numbers setting to "on" rather
than "off" or "synthesizer."

Hmmmmmmm!!!! the last couple days, when I see a date like 1970, it no
longer reads like nineteen seventy. I didn't change anything on purpose,
but stuff happens, evidently. <grin>

How can I fix it?

Thanks.
