But if you fire up espeak, you have to deal with the eighties all over again. When I heard it for the first time, I thought, wow, this sounds a whole lot like the olt voices you used to hear on the Apple II computer series. It's fast and light, yeah, but real, real horrible to listen to for extended periods of time. You really get what you pay for with espeak.
