Hi, I can tell you that at least on this dual core 2.6 Ghz machine with
4 gb of ram, the voices run very nicely. The compact and standard voices
present zero problems. I don't care for having the premium higher
quality voices, but those run almost as good. On a newer machine which
makes this one look like a dinosaur, they will run just great as well.
The key thing is when the screen reader talks directly to the voices
rather than using a bridge like a sapi driver, then they are more
responsive. For example, Eloquence became a lot more responsive when GW
switched from the sapi version to the directly tied in version. The same
is true for these Vocalizer ones. This is why you choose them from their
own entry, rather than from the sapi entry.

It's per language. I'll probably buy them at some point. I just hope
these versions don't suffer from the sluggishness that plagues other
Sapi voices when they're used as screen reader voices. If not I could
finally ditch Eloquence altogether since its response rate is the only
reason I use it at all.
