Positive. You enter your serial number and then you get taken back to
another page which does ask you for your serial number and zip.

It never asked me for my zip code when I went to the upgrades sight
directly. Just an edit box for the serial number. Are you sure you
went to the correct page after going to the upgrades page?

Yeah, but the problem with going to <www.gwmicro.com/upgrade> directly
is that eventually you end up right back at the page where it asks for
your serial number and zip code again. In my case, and others, that's
where you get the message saying it can't determine the cost to
upgrade and won't let you continue.

Hi, all. I ran into the exact same problem. Here's how I solved it.
I was going to speak with tech support, but I explained my problem
to Sue since she works in the orders department. Whatever she
entered in the computer concerning my upgrade then allowed me to
download and install the upgrade. I did try to use the check for
upgrades feature, however, I still received an error after several
progress announcements. So, in other words, the only way I could
upgrade was to go directly to the following link:
www.gwmicro.com/upgrade <http://www.gwmicro.com/upgrade>.
In this case, common sense tells me that more than two people have
had the exact same problem despite the fact that their copies of
Window-eyes are license and that the systems on Gw Micro's end don't
recognize the serial numbers or zip codes.
