I've noticed this also; and it is definitely intermittent and perhaps not
even reproducible. But it's there.
What seems to unfreeze it for me is using the voice rotator app and
cycling through the choices. This may give us a hint that possibly the
synthesizer is freezing and needs to be somehow unlocked.
My primary synthesizer, for the record, is the TripleTalk pci card.
