Hi:

Here are a couple things to try.

If you do a fresh install of 8.0, it enables what they call the insert key 
layout.

If you press ctrl-alt-0 that will turn it off and you should get your numpad 
back the way you're used to..

I don't know about the other problem.

One thing I am finding with Windows XP, is that the new Vocalizer voices don't 
seem to work if dot net framework is not installed.  I ran the demo on a fresh 
install of Windows XP and the Vocalizer voices would not work for me.  Then, I 
installed DotNet Framework 3.5 SP1 and then did a fresh install of WE 8.0 demo 
and the Vocalizer voices came up talking.  I told tech support about this and 
hope it is of assistance.
