I figured as much. GW Micro made those keys user defineable for a reason.
David, the average WE user wouldn't be able to use my copy of WE because I
have taken the hot keys> cursor hot keys off the mouse pad and put them on
the qwerty keys where I can get at them more quickly. That left many
openings for me to create mnemonic keys and keyboard/ keypad equivalents. To
me, at least, this greatly reduces the burden of trying to remember what I
consider esoteric key combinations like Control num pad left arrow equals
hot keys> cursor> character. I'll never understand the rationale behind that
one, but then, I don't need to because Window-Eyes lets me customize the hot
keys to facilitate use of the computer in a way that feels more seamless and
intuitive to me.

Subject: why I want to change read text key

Dear list,

Here is why I want to change the X key back to the way it was. Many times
when I find a line of text, below are links. So after finding the text with
the X key, using my left hand. Now I'm able to down arrow with my right
hand. The way it is now with the N key, both the N key and the arrow keys
require my right hand and this is a real pain. Thanks for all your comments.

   Dave
