Hi Barbara,
If you have never been prompted to install Java before, then the websites you visit do not use Java, and you do not need to install Java.
I personally do not use Java on my primary browser, which is firefox.
If I come across a java link and I really need to hear what is there, I run I.E., which has java installed. If you come across a Java link which prompts you to install Java, you can always choose to install it at that time.
Good luck,
Manny

I then got a message that I did not have java installed and I could install java access bridge later after installing java. OK. Now my question is, should I download and install java? Will it provide me with better access on the web or elsewhere?
