One thing about dec_access32, when it's running, the beeps for the progress indicator sure are shortened, or interrupted, unless dec_access32 is speaking, then it's ok. I don't have my percentage indicators speaking, so the beeps are all I hear. You guys at gw-micro try it using dec_access32, turning off your speech indications and see if it happens for you.
Eloquence and vocalizer don't have this issue.

No let make this very simple. You upgraded to window-eyes 8. So you are atuherized to run dectalk access 32. If you bought a new copy as of window-eyes 8 you would get vocalizer and not dectalk access 32. So you can safely install window-eyes 8.0 and you will have dectalk access 32.

Subject: Decktalk Access 32

Hello Everyone,

This may of already been discussed and I missed it. I read the following from GW Micro Window-Eyes 8 new features:

New copies of Window-Eyes 8.0 now ship with the Nuance Vocalizer speech synthesizer instead of DECTalk Access 32. Customers upgrading from previous Window-Eyes releases will still have access to DECTalk, but a license must be purchased in order to use Vocalizer. Similarly, new Window-Eyes 8.0 customers who wish to use DECTalk Access
32 will need to purchase a license for that synthesizer.

So when I upgraded to Window-Eyes 8, I still had Decktalk Access 32 which is what I have been using. I am referring to the Window-Eyes one, Number 7 in the synsesizer list. All is well for now. Here is my question. Say I buy a new computer and install Window-Eyes 8 as part of this installation. Unless I am missing something, I will no longer have the choice of Decktalk Access 32 since it would not of been on my new computer. I would need to make a different choice. Note it is very unlikely that I would choose to purchase one of the voices now available.

Is there some way for me to "preserve" Decktalk Access 32 for future installations? Any ideas or comments welcome.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Barbara
