If they work, use them. The premium high voices are great, but the standard and premium voices don't have the dictionaries in there to pronounce many things correctly. I was told by support that 1 gig of ram was the minimum needed for the premium voices. So I downloaded the standard voices. But I'm finding that the premium voices have a little better pronunciation. My question is: What signs will tell me that the premium is not as effective on my older computer as the standard? It appears to run just fine.
