Hi Mike,

If they work, use them. The premium high voices are great, but the standard
and premium voices don't have the dictionaries in there to pronounce many
things correctly.

All the best

Steve

Subject: New voices and r.a.m.

I have 1 gig-a-bite of ram on my computer, an older one, running xp with
about 450 gigs of rom. I was told by support that 1 gig of ram was the
minimum needed for the premium voices. So I downloaded the standard voices.
But I'm finding that the premium voices have a little better pronunciation.

My question is: What signs will tell me that the premium is not as
effective on my older computer as the standard? It appears to run just
fine.

Example of difference: the standard version pronunces the word "button" as
"botdton, where the premium says "button".
