Why not simply just press Ctrl-Shif-Escape, from anywhere on your computer. Takes you directly to the taskmanager. Use the Ctrl-Tab, to get to the processes list, and arrow your way up and down the list. Press the App-key, at any entry, and use your arrow keys for choosing action on that entry. Confirm with Enter.
When all done, simply hit alt-f4, and you are back to where you left off. No need to go through any further menus or steps. Works in both XP and Win7.
