check for app updates first.
some apps are set to never check for updates for some reason unless you go
into each app to make sure they are set to do this automatically on startup.
but with me i do not have any choice. all are set to never and the always
check on startup is disabled.

Well, since you know it is one of two apps, you are suggested to do the
following.

1. Disable one of the apps.
2. Open Word, and close it again.

Do you get the error message still? If so, go back to the App Manager, and
do as follows.

3. Reenable the app you disabled above.
4. Now, disable the other app.
5. Open, and then close Word.

Did this solve your problem?

At this point, you should know which app would be causing the actual error
message. BTW, exactly what is the error message? You did not say.

To open the App manager, for disabling and enabling individual apps, do like
this:

A. Ctrl-Backslash, opens WE ControlPanel.
B. Alt-A, opens the App menu.
C. Right-arrow, to expand the menu.
D. Twice Down-Arrow, and you are at the entry App Manager. Hit Enter.
E. you are now presented with a list of apps installed on your computer.
Arrow down to the app in question.
F. Hit Alt-E, to Disable or Enable the app. Give the app a second or two, to
switch state.
G. When all done, hit Escape, and you will be back in the WE Control Panel.
From here, simply continue your computer activity.

Subject: Annoying problem with an app

Hello list,

I’m getting annoyed with either the Word Advanced Feature app or the Word
Navigation app. One of them causes an error messages each time I close Word.
I even tried to send a message to the creator of the app, but without
success.

Firstly: How do I get to know which app causes the trouble?

Secondly: How do I fix the error message?

Kind regards

Morné
