Stephen,
I tried this and it does not work for me.
When I press it I hear connectivity to your server, connected, normal
reading zoom 10, zoom out 10 of 500, zoom in.

How do you get a count of messages?
Is there a setting someware that has to be changed to have this information
displayed down there? I thought I had all the pains turned off.
Shannon

Richard,

Try the read status line command (Control-Insert-S by default).

Outlook 2010?
