I had the same problem, but I no longer have this problem since doing the following:
ran task manager
right click on wineyes.exe and press p
and entered on hi
bypassed the warning and hit OK or continue.
Now when my program is busy working, WE8 is reading normally without hesitation,
which is how it should be, since I have a quad core.
Please note:
I believe this applies only for multi core computers.
You must be logged in as administrator.
If you find the you can not change the priority, try
After you open the Task Manager, click
Show Processes from all users
and set your user name to Administrator.

Now the problem with this solution is that you need to change the priority every time you reboot your computer. I found a free program, Prio, which saves your priority setting,
so you need to set the priority only once.
Please Note that you need to use either the 32 bit or 64 bit version based on your
operating system.
Here is the link for the 32 bit Prio from download.com:

here is the 64 bit prio download:

Don't forget that you need to reboot your computer after installing Prio.Manny
If this solution works for you, please post to give gwmicro feedback.

    Hello,

Yes I am having the same issue. I also have the issue in outlook
2010. If you wait a while speech comes back. It is becoming
difficult to do my job productively.

I've noticed that occasionally, I will be at a website and, if I
tab too fast, Window Eyes 8.0 locks up and i have to re-boot. I'm
using XP with Firefox. Anybody having this problem?
