Perhaps this tab key issue is what's impacting on the situation I described? I found the browse mode default so confusing that I turned off switching forms automatically (I think it is), and have speech announcing when browse mode is off and on. With Jaws at work I don't have problems with browse mode switching re how it affects what I'm doing.

A new feature of WE 8 which you need to get used to is that browse mode can be turned on and off as you tab through fields. This is not automatic if you use the arrow keys instead. What is read and what the arrow keys can do is affected by whether you are in browse mode or not. And what is read may be different between the two modes for some kinds of links.
