I'm not having lock-ups since I changed the Wineyes.exe process to high
using WE 8.0 and then WE 8.1.

It sounds to me that something on your machine is messed up somewhere,
although admittedly I couldn't guess what it could be. Because I haven't
had any problems like that.

was hoping that the 8.1 fixed the problems. Yesterday, I installed it,
and my husband went to the Internet. Right away, WE locked up. I really
hope this was just a one-time deal, but I'm worried. WE also locks up
when I use word. Sometimes, in the middle of going one word at a time, I
hear three beeps, and WE stops. I have Windows XP, SP3, and I have Office
XP.

Like Mr. Duran, I installed We8.1.
When I launch IE9, the proverbial "INTERNET EXPLORER HAS STOPPED
RESPONDING;
WINDOWS IS CHECKING FOR THE SOURCE OF THIS PROBLEM" comes up; then cancel
and close program in that order.
Window-Eyes of course LOCKS UP and I have to use the OTHER screen reader
to
read that portion of the screen. I don't have this problem with the OTHER
screen reader albeit I am only running a demo of the OTHER screen reader.
So, where's the fix for Internet Explorer touted in the ReadMe of
Window-Eyes 8.1? Or does "THE FIX" only apply to IE10? Much thanks as I
look forward with anxious temerity to being able to go back to work using
Window-Eyes again!!!
Sincerely,
