Hi again Steve, I won't give up on WE 8.1! At the moment, I need to remain problem free, for I have patent applications and other legal matters to attend to in the next couple of weeks.
Thereafter, I will re-install WE 8.1 and figure out from whence the problems with Google come so GW can track it down. The behavior was weird indeed, nothing would read while in the Search box, and the results list wouldn't read correctly. I had to toggle Browse mode on and off to get anything accomplished. The problem may not have anything to do with WE 8.1 per se; it could becaused by the leasted updates from Microsoft.
