Yes, despite all of this, the information is inaccurate. I have run MSE with a
daily update and scan since the application was new and have installed it on
well over a dozen systems ranging from XP to Windows 7 64-bit. No problems, the
definitions update check and install happens before the daily scan begins just
as MSE is set up to do. The MSE definitions list is a constant update not just
a daily update so there is almost always a definitions update available under
Windows Update, even if the automatic update has just recently occurred.
Recently, there was a problem with Windows Update being behind on the automatic
updates for some people. The problem has been fixed I believe, but what reading
the discussion shows is that MSE had and has automatic definition file updates
available. If not, there hardly could have been a problem with automatic
definitions updates being behind the current definitions. Here is the link to
the discussion:

What does not update automatically is MSE itself. You have to check regularly.
One of the best ways to install MSE and to do updates is to include it as part
of a Ninite installer. Makes things very simple.

Really? The information is inaccurate?
And I happen to run the program on a daily shot? Everything is set to update
and I have gone threw windows automatic updates. I have had other people varify
that the MSE program does not update by itself. And they are using windows 7,
not xp. Even people on my personal twitter account have said that same thing.

This is inaccurate information. MSSE does indeed update its definitions. If
yours is not doing so check your settings. Now, if you override Windows Update's
automatic updates your MSSE definitions may need to be updated manually. MS
recommends automatic updates so if you do this MSSE will update itself.

I use MSE all the time on an XP machine. I have had no accessibility issues
with it. Just no that it does not update the deffinitions automatically and you
will need to go and get those yorself from the windows update website. Also, if
you have external hard drives you want MSE to ignore, you will have to set that
up as well in the MSE options.

I’m debating whether to switch to Microsoft Security Essentials. Is
anyone using it and, if so, is it accessible with Windoweyes? Using Windows-7
and the latest Windoweyes.
