Hi. Wow I'd lose track of how many times I'd pressed that key combo, which seems rather...ridiculous. In a case like this, I think it's worth writing to them about. Usually, you can reach the person in charge of their website by writing to [email protected] that used to be the way it was for most sites on the web. If you wrote to webmaster@ followed by the domain you could send them a note about their site. As someone whose working in a web design class I'm going to do a bit of sluthing and figure out what kind of button or control their using for the add to cart button and ask them to replace it with one that looks just as good, but also works with more screenreaders.
I don't know if that'd work but it quite definitely can't hurt.

I actually tried that workaround and it didn't work. So I guess it's over te phone for me. Granted I don't mind that at all.

But thou must!

As a temporary work around, what I have discovered with the help of some
eyeballs, is to route the mouse to that quantity, and do
alt-shift-right arrow 30 times and then click. It will add the item and
you will be placed at the top of the page. Also, you can order over the
phone which may be the best for now.

Hi

Talking about this Chase bank issue got me to thinking about
schwans.com. I had seen some discussion about it on this list sometime
back, but the discussion ended and I didn't hear much after that. As
far as I can tell, there's still an issue with adding your items to
your cart. you can certainly log in and do searches for different
products, but the add to cart button doesn't seem to be visible with
window-eyes. The other screenreaders that I have on my system like
NVDA and system access work with it just fine, but I don't want to
have to switch screenreaders just to use one website. Just for
everyone's info, i'm using wE 8.1 in windows 7 64-bit, and I tried the
site with both IE 9 and the latest Firefox, version 20. If you search
for a specific product, you can see your search results, like the
specific web page for that product and there's a combo box to
determine how many of that product
you want to buy, but the add to cart button isn't visible. Kind of
frustrating. I'm wondering if there's a setting I need to change
somewhere within WE to get this to read, or is this just a case of WE
and the website not being compadible? I'm hoping we can get this
fixed.
Thanks.

Chris
