Vick,
One thing that works for me while waiting for something to down-load, when it
says down loading I use insert, backslash. Give it a try.

Subject: On Going Browse Mode issues

I am having a lot of problems with WE 8.1, IE8 and Windows XP Pro. Before
anyone suggests updating to IE9 and Windows 7 I will say I don't have that
choice on my work computer. This will happen, but not right now.

There are times when WE will say Downloading page and sit there for a very long
time. On occasion the page will load and there are times where it will just sit
and sit and sit. Pressing the read progress or scroll bar hot key will say that
the page is at one hundred percent or it will say no progress or scroll bars
found. If I alt+tab out of the browser and back again then the page will load.

There are times when using my arrow keys to read through a page WE will stop
talking. If I wait there are times when WE will come back and continue talking.
Then there are times when I need to minimize everything with the Windows hot
key then alt+tab to call IE back into the fore ground. This will sometimes fix
the problem.

This behaviour may also happen when I tab through the elements. We will decide
to stop and I either have to wait or perform the same minimize and call IE to
the fore ground again.

another issue is at times WE will not load the MSAA information into the
buffer. I can tab through the elements on a web page and We sluggishly reads
them, but pressing the browse mode hot key will give me the message browse mode
is unavailable. Sometimes I can call up another instance of IE and that wakes
up browse mode, however when this happens most of the time I need to shut down
We and call it up again.

When none of the above strategies work, I need to call up another text to
speech program then stop the Window-Eyes process.

All this is very time consuming. most of what I do here at work requires web
access to manage servers, access files via the BeeHive web interface, get
information through our internal Wiki and monitor web based alert systems.

I don't think other text to speech programs will be significantly better and I
surely don't want to invest a lot of my time thoroughly learning a new text to
speech system in order to become more productive in the long run. The bottom
line the sooner GW Micro can address these issues the happier I will be.
