You might verify that the people pane is disabled. To do this, first
open your inbox, then press Alt-V, P, P, down-arrow to Off, and hit Enter.

Hello list,
I run Windows 7 64 bit, Office 2010. Today, when I opened Outlook, it
opened like a web page with links. I went to my list of emails with
the Window-eyes command, which is Control-1. That takes me back to my
list of messages. However, when I try to close a message with the
escape key, the same happens -- I get a number of links which I can
use to perform certain tasks on that particular message. The escape
key no longer takes me back to my list of messages.
Any advice please?
