Tom,
Another way to think of this is if you go to your Windows programs and
features (previously called add or remove programs) which displays all
your installed programs, you wouldn't expect that to match the task
manager showing all programs that are currently running. Meaning what
you have installed isn't necessarily what is currently running. Many of
the Window-Eyes apps are program specific meaning they don't launch
until the program itself is launched. So you may have TBEnhanced
installed but if Thunderbird isn't running, the TBEnhanced app isn't
running either. It's installed but not running.

Tom,
The add or remove apps window displays which apps Window-Eyes believes
are installed, while the app manager shows what's running at the
moment. It's possible that one or more apps include several components
that must be run in tandom to function properly; IE Enhance and Immed
come to mind as examples. It's also possible that you have duplicate
apps installed which can happen if you copied your profile in from
another machine. In that case, you might have to either perform some
manual clean-up yourself or create a new profile and start fresh.

When I go into Add Or Remove apps, I show 26. When I go into App
Manager, I show 43. Why are these number so different? I know I have
some apps that are program specific, but I don't think that many of
them. How can I find the total number of Window-Eyes apps? I am
embarrassed to ask this since I have been a user from the Vocal Eyes
days.
