That's h appened on my desktop computer here at work. My screen wasdark and I 
t hought the monitor was off or  unplugged.  Restarted the computer and it 
worked. I think it's been a couple of times.

i have had this happen as well, and it is anoying to say the least , a sighted 
friend said thatthey thought the laptop was shot and that i needed another one.

No; this is an issue with Microsoft's Mirror technology that has been
around since the Windows Vista days. While it isn't as frequent under
Windows 7, it does happen from time to time.
