I looked under the cursor sub menu and the setting was already programmed the way you said it should be. It still does no good with regard to the backspace key. I have put in a call to GW and sent them a diagnostic report, so hopefully, with any luck, I'll hear something back from them in the next day or two. Jon

Under cursor keys in the WE control panel the first item is the backspace key. Set this to global and pick the action you want. Hopefully this works for you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ From: Jon Rawlings [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, June 04, 2013 4:09 PM To: Duyahn Walker; [email protected] Subject: Re: Problems in Outlook Express I'm running the latest, most up to date version of W.E. Insert and the number 2 just reads me the body of the message that is currently open. I think I figured out how to make browse mode load when I open a message though. How that setting ever changed is beyond me. ----- Original Message ----- From: Duyahn Walker To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, June 04, 2013 2:05 PM Subject: Re: Problems in Outlook Express Press insert and the number 2 until you hear it say keyboard voice on. As for your other issues, not sure. What version of Window eyes are you running? ----- Original Message ----- From: Jon Rawlings To: Duyahn Walker ; [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, June 04, 2013 3:56 PM Subject: Re: Problems in Outlook Express don't know what or where the key echo option is within the Window Eyes control panel. I just spent 10 minutes looking at every single thing within the control panel and can't find anything that would help me resolve this issue, and apparently, others on list have this issue as well. And on top of that, now Browse mode does not load automatically when I open a new message in O.E. which means I now have to turn it on for each message I open. What's going on here? ----- Original Message ----- From: Duyahn Walker To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, June 04, 2013 12:41 PM Subject: Re: Problems in Outlook Express I am using Outlook express currently and am having no issues that your explaining. Could something in your profile have gotten messed up? I can hear the last thing erased when I press the backspace key if key echo is turned on. ----- Original Message ----- From: Sunshine To: whizza ; Rob Hudson Cc: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, June 04, 2013 2:21 PM Subject: Re: Problems in Outlook Express strange i believe that it doesnot happen for me. I am using outlook express, and the latest window eyes to reply to this message. and using the back space key works correctly. ----- Original Message ----- From: whizza To: Rob Hudson Cc: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, June 04, 2013 12:02 PM Subject: Re: Problems in Outlook Express This also happens in Windows Live Mail and Windows Mail and has done so for quite a while. I have to use NVDA to compose or reply to messages because it's virtually impossible to edit a message. Also, browse mode engages before you start composing and you have to manually turn it off. I can't understand why NVDA doesn't have this problem and yet Window-Eyes, which is more sophisticated, has had this unfixed bug for some time. Cheers, Sandra.
