i have been using yahoo mail on line and through email clients for all the time
i have owned a computer.
the web site you do not need to use the mouse keys to read any emails on the
web.
I use ie 8 on xp fire fox latest on xp, and on windows 7 64 bit ie 10, and
latest fire fox to use the yahoo mail on line.
as for email clients i use outlook express and thunderbird.
the outlook express is on xp. and the thunderbird email client is on the
windows 7 .

I actually prefer a stand alone email program for myself. In fact, I just
recently got access to one which works fine. However, my account is a yahoo
account through AT&T which utilizes a SPAM folder on the webmail site. Today I
was able to access the folder using the mouse keys and going through each
message one by one by one. And the only way that was possible was because I was
on someone elses computer using I.E.8. My computer has I.E.9 so mouse keys
don't work. Here's my question, messages in the SPAM folder seem to be in a
table format and the only way to interact with anything in the table is by
checking a box tied to each message. I found no way using either the I.E.8 or
I.E.9 program to check any of the messages so I could take further action on
them. The spacebar just kept saying the box was unchecked and trying different
action buttons verified that. The enter key just put me out of browse mode. The
mouse keys let me open each message separately but that meant I couldn't
act on multiple messages at one time - like delete or move. Any ideas on how I
can access and manage my SPAM folder because sometimes there are messages in
there I really do want?

Thanks for your suggestion of covering web mail as a future webinar topic.
I am a bit hesitant to commit to this topic for a number of reasons. First,
because there are so many different email providers used by our customers, it
would not be possible to cover all of the web mail systems that are being used.
Second, because these solutions are web based, the user interfaces are being
constantly updated which would make a presentation on the topic become obsolete
very quickly. In addition, most web mail systems are not the most user
friendly interfaces for accessing email especially when compared to stand alone
email clients like Outlook, Thunderbird, Windows Live Mail and Becky. This is
because they do not use standard Windows controls and often lack keyboard
accessibility. This is why I personally recommend the use of a standalone
email client because if you learn how to complete a task, you can be confident
that the technique will continue to work as long as you use the pr
ogram. I do not want to rule out the idea of conducting a webinar on this
topic and would be interested to know which specific web mail systems people
are most interested in learning how to use and why the web mail interface is
preferable over a standalone email client.

Are you using firefox? I had to use the mouse pointer to find a button
called switch now. Once I clicked on it there was a for my in box. Gw
needs to do one of them web classes on web mail.
