Why can't the people who are responsible for Java make it accessible in the
first place.

Hi, David.
Any time you update Java, you're required to re-install the Java Access
Bridge. This is because the Access Bridge files are installed into the Java
directory, and each version of Java has its own directory. The documentation
states, "Should you need to install the Java Access Bridge at a later time, you
can manually run the "Install Java Access Bridge" shortcut in the Window-Eyes
Advanced Options Start Menu program group." So once you do that, your Java
programs should start speaking again. Just know that, if you update Java in the
future, you'll have to perform the same steps to install the Java Access Bridge
for that version.
Thanks,
Aaron

I installed WE8.2 on an XP machine here. It has Java installed, and so the
java bridge of WE was installed. After installation, the java-based screens I
am using worked.
Recently, I was informed of an update to Java. I ran the updater, and java
is now reported to be version 7.25.something. Problem is, that ever since the
update, WE no longer speaks in the Java screens.
What am I to do, to get back my Java support in WE8.2?
