Hi Tom
You don't have to purchase the pro version every time you upgrade, the
Winamp guys aren't like that. when a new version of Winamp comes out
just install the new version, right over the top of your other one. If
you uninstalll every time you'll lose your bookmarks and other settings.
Also, to make things really really super easy, you might take a look at
http://www.ninite.com
That website is a beautiful thing. It has a number of programs, and the
outstanding thing about it is you can download an installer for Winamp,
or any other program on the website whenever a new version of the
program in question is released and it'll always grab the newest version
and download and install it for you. no need to keep hitting next
buttons or checking boxes to agree to license terms and such. So if you
can, keep that ninite Winamp installer in a place where you can get to
it very easily and when a new version comes out like I was saying, just
run it and let the installer do the rest.
The website is very accessible as well. Simply check the appropriate
check box for the program or programs you want, and click that get
installer button and you can download it. This should make updating
Winamp about a thousand times easier!
Hope that helps.
