thanks. that did it.
i think this feature is not needed.
you can set the folder view to list and it will do the same thing with out
it.

This is from the readme of 8.3 and might answer your question:
* To increase responsiveness in Windows Explorer in Windows Vista and up,
the first column is read now rather than the entire row. You can use the
Left and Right Arrow keys to traverse individual columns, and the Speak
Summary command (Control-Shift-S by default) will read the entire row as it
always has. To restore the previous behavior, open the Window-Eyes control
panel, navigate to Apps -> Windows Enhanced, and activate the item labeled
"Speak all columns in Windows Explorer detail view." Note that a Window-Eyes
restart is required for this change to take effect.

Subject: file lists win7

hi,
is there a new setting for w e 8.3 i have to change?
i use to be able to read the entire line of a list of files in windows
explorer.
i have the lists set to details. but it only speaks the file name. not the
date, file size etc automatically the way it use to.
this is the only way i have to see the newest file ,by date modified.
now i have to right arrow on each file name to see the date they were
modified or created now.
