Hi. Ever since I followed the steps Mark provided to configure Windows to go to the desktop instead of the start screen, I've encountered what I consider to be an odd behavior. After the pc boots up running Windows 8.1 and Window-eyes 8.3.0, I hear an ok button spoken. When I read the Window, I hear the number 32770. When I press enter on the ok button, the word taskbar is spoken. If I tab to the various options, they are spoken such as internet explorer, show desktop, and so on. In order to get the desktop list to read my preferred shortcuts, I have to tab around the loop so to speak until I reach the desktop. I will also try pressing the Windows-d key combination and see what happens. Having said all of this, what does the number 32770 mean?
Mike M P.S. I will also call the Microsoft Accessibility hotline to see if someone can explain why I am hearing these unfamiliar spoken items. Btw, the number is one of the best resources when it comes to Windows and accessibility issues and screen readers. At least, a screen reader user isn't made to feel as nobody has a clue what you're trying to explain. For those who haven't tried this number, call 1-800-936-5900. .
