Hello Tom,

I'm wondering whether, in the Window-Eyes control panel, Eloquence is using a sound card which is the same as that which Gold Wave is using. And perhaps this device is not able to be shared. Check the Advanced tab of the Playback device. I'm assuming you're running Windows 7.

Rod

Update. Fortunately, it works fine with my TrippleTalk synthesizer that I use for a back-up. However, in the pas, I have been able to use Eloquence with GoldWave withno problems. I am able to go back from TrippleTalk and use Eloquence again without closing Window-Eyes. Apparently, playing music now intercepts Window-Eyes for some reason.

Last night, I didn't have this problem. Now, when I play a file inGoldWave, Window-Eyes stops speaking completely. Even after I stop playing the file, it is silent. I can open the Window-Eyes Control Panel because I get the sound that happens when I open it. I am using the same SoundBlaster that I do for playing music. I am using Eloquence Reed for my voice. What have I done now? The only way to get speech back is to kill Window-Eyes and restart it.
