Doug, Is there any advantage to installing the Microsoft platform voices over the Microsoft SAPI 5 voices in Windows 8?

They do not support Windows XP. In order to install them you will need to first install the speech platform. This is its own installer. After installing the platform you can install each of the individual voices. Once you have both installed you can go to the Window-Eyes select synth list and select Microsoft Speech Platform and then tab to the installed engines. After selecting the engine you want just hit enter to activate it. You can download the Microsoft platform and TTS engine by going to the Voices page. Just select more voices from the Window-Eyes help menu. The Microsoft installs are way at the bottom of this web page.
