I just wonder a bit about this information. OK, I haven't had the chance of
testing with Window-Eyes, and maybe something there makes this come true.
Yet, I did download the Microsoft Speech Platform voices, and the
installer. Then tested it on my XP machine, under NVDA. And what do you
think? They work just troublefree, and sure boosted the quality of NVDA's
speech.
So, for whatever reason, maybe they are not officially supporting XP, but
they sure work under XP. And, why would Microsoft not tell if they do work
under XP? My guess is, that since they are just about to drop support on
XP altogether, it would be nonsense to release some product, and then tell
it to work under XP. But that does not tell, that they do not work. And as
many other have stated, it seems to be the case, so enjoy. Just don't tell
Microsoft that anything works. Smile.

Dear confused (smile),
Microsoft speech platform voices can be installed on Vista and above.
They do not support Windows XP. In order to install them you will need
to first install the speech platform. This is its own installer. After
installing the platform you can install each of the individual voices.
Once you have both installed you can go to the Window-Eyes select synth
list and select Microsoft Speech Platform and then tab to the installed
engines. After selecting the engine you want just hit enter to activate
it. You can download the Microsoft platform and TTS engine by going to
the Voices page. Just select more voices from the Window-Eyes help menu.
The Microsoft installs are way at the bottom of this web page.
